This is "Waves"
This painting brings me back to my childhood and our summers spent in York Beach, Maine in the late 70's and early 80's. My uncle had a summer home there that we'd use from time to time.
In between going to the penny candy store (when it was pretty close to costing a penny) and watching the fresh salt water taffy being made in the windows of The Goldenrod, we were at the beach.
I remember renting rafts and my sister and I would play in the water for what seemed like hours. Then we'd sit in our little beach chairs for the remainder of the day, eating sandwiches and watching the water. This reminds me of that water - cold yet refreshing. The noise of the waves crashing and the water coming up to wash the sand from our feet.
I hope it brings a beach memory to you as well!
